AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I think that's the funniest thing i've ever read on these forums ... oh wow, I literally fell right out of my chair and hurt myself, but I don't mind
*composes himself*
Mine to share: Not so much of a jerk, but really damn funny ... minding my own business in one of the Ascalon missions with a new toon (Ranik or Nolani, I think) and I see some low level person spinning around in circles (not running, but just spinning) ... the hilarity ensues:
Him: Everyone give me 100 gold and i'll stop spinning the world like this!
Me: Um, you're just spinning the world for yourself buddy ...
Him: Seriously, i'm not going to stop until you pay me, you can't trick me!
Me: Rofl ... nah keep doing it, we like it! Spin faster!
Just thought i'd share, was probably one of the dumbest things i've seen in a while ...

The biggest jerk I ever met, was in our guild. He was tending our website and decided that we would have a minimum activity limit. Before we could stop it, off one person left, our longest standing member, and he kicked 2 other, then a few others left. We kicked him, but not before we lost nearly half our guild.

I applaud this guy. It seems to me he was just jesting. Simply from the dialogue (in case you have quoted him exactly) it appears he was being a joker, entertaining everyone else by belittling himself. It is unfortunate that people are labeling him as "dumb" and "weird".

Some "small jerk" anecdotes to keep this thread going:
1) Warriors are sissies (at least most of the ones I meet): Was playing as monk helping a friend to get the Barrage cap from the Iron Mines mission last night. Joined a party which had 2 warriors in it. While waiting to start, Warrior #1 says we need to run this mission. As only monk in the group, I warned them all: you run, I leave. Warrior #1 says we need to run it. Others say it is an easy mission, we don't need to run it. Warrior #1 says again we need to run it. I say again I will leave if he runs. Warrior #1 says he will run anyway. So be it. We start the mission. Half the team tries to run past the first group, the other half stops to fight. I don't know where Warrior #1 was, but he dropped from the group shortly after. Meanwhile we start fighting our way towards infusion. Suddenly I notice Warrior #2 needs healing, but then I notice he isn't anywhere near us. He ran. He also died. After a round of shouts like "Runner down, yay!" he left, probably was too embarrassed to wait for us and be rezzed.
Why do most of the warriors out there have this feeling that everything needs to be run? Why do a lot of warriors not feel like a party is going to succeed unless they got two warrior buddies at their sides, two healing monks healing them, and a few elementalist nukers in between? I wouldn't call these two warriors "biggest jerks", but they certainly did nothing to add to the team effort. We ended up finishing the mission without warriors, and actually as monk equipped with only healing spells, I was quite bored with nothing to do most of the time.
2) While doing a ROF mission helping a friend, we decided afterwards to go to SF for a tour. One of the new PUGs in our mission party seemed pretty nice so we asked if he wanted to join. Yes he did, but his character was only to Rankin. So we said we would help him get to the War Camp. We spent a good half hour or so doing this, without running and enjoying every victory along the way. But after getting to War Camp, our new friend simply says that he now needed to log off, thanks and goodbye. Doh! We only did that trip so he could come and join us for an SF farming tour! Again, no prize for being the biggest jerk here, the guy meant well and probably didn't realize how inconsiderate he had just been. Oh well, its all a part of the game, we all laughed at the incident and continued on to an SF tour with us three plus 3 henchies, and I got two green drops

No, it was actually a good team as PUGs go, barring the warriors. We did fine without them. We had 3 elementalists, as it turns out, and for the most part they played well, considering that elementalists without tanks usually take a lot of damage. My friend was a Ranger. Forgot to mention we took Lina henchy as more monk support, and that's why I got bored with nothing to do. Could have used a Mesmer instead of one of the elementalists, I guess, but the group minus the warriors played well as a team. I've met a few good warriors here and there, some of them are on my friend's list, but for the most part if things go wrong regarding team play, from my experiences, it is usually due to the warriors in the group.

He was really sorry. 4-5 hours is a bit extreme, even for someone to go afk (normally at some point they turn their computer off). It could be some kind of crash or disaster at home happened. Its amazing to me how many people start cursing and cussing and calling out leaver when a party member suddenly disconnects. In many cases, it is due to an Err=7 disconnect.

Yeh, I have a few friends who get Err=7 on a regular basis, so I never whine about it.. Not many leave the game intentionally without atleast an apology.
The thing that pissed me off about the mesmer was that she just went afk all of a sudden. Not even a "sry guys, gtg", which is what I would do if I for some reason had to go afk for a long while. I mean, it takes 2 secs to write.. And we waited a good 20 mins for her to come back before we gave up and continued (with a whiner spamming "CAN WE GO NOW?!?!" 50 times over I might add).
I put her on my friends-list, but she hasn't come online yet..

Us: ok fine, were gonna fight so the monk can cap Mark of Prot
Jerk: ok
Time passes
Jerk dies from griffons and shadows
Jerk: How far are you guys?
Us: we just finished capping Mark of Prot, were on our way
Jerk: ok youre a little ways away from me
(less than 30 seconds passes)
Jerk: I'm going to go take a nap, i have a headache and dont wanna wait for inferrior people to come res me
*Jerk leaves*
Well the ele, ranger, and the other monk decide to leave also... So the 4 of us go on and got lucky and finished it by ourselves.

No offense taken.
Yes, we are politically correct here as well. At the agency I worked at, they are called "consumers". Politically correct or not tho, we all know that is what they are and it just irks me to no end that people keep using this term.

People who use noob as an insult is really lame. When I see someone talk like that I tend to think its a middle or high school teenager since they use it a lot. They should come up with better, more witty, intelligent insults. xD And people who use noob a lot seem to take the game too seriously IMO.
|
hey not all teenagers are like that!
when someone calls me a noob my reponse is "lol" or they are realy bad "rofl" and i dont bother calling others noobs cause it just hey new player realy. so if anyone is pissing me off i or call me a "noob" i do 1 of these:
1.kick them out of team (if they are in my team)
2.say bye bye instantly and ignore to piss them off
3.just laugh at his pathetic attempt to be superior

I have shortened the actual text (being that I didn't take a screenshot) ... but I assure you he was entirely convinced that since he was spinning, the entire map was spinning for everyone ...

my first guild was pretty big on GvG, and we had an ok rank. one of the officers had a vent server, so i guess that is why he was an officer. well, one night i was doing some missions while on vent and there were some people on doing GvG and i thought nothing of it. they were pretty friendly guys and i was talking with them and planing on GvGing with them when i finished the mission. i didnt have time to, so the next day i got back on and all of them were gone, as was much of the guild. it turns out that the officer with vent had invited his friends and had them made officers, then purposely lost a lot of GvG maches to bring our rank down while the leader was off, then kicked a bunch of people from the guild. now those guys are some big jerks with a sick sense of humor.

That warrior indeed sounds like a jerk. But why did the others leave after he left? This is an incredibly easy mission if you don't do the bonus (the bonus is not difficult but makes the mission long). The fight to infusion is not difficult unless you charge ahead and aggro more groups than you can handle. And after that, its only 3 small groups to kill before you come to Markis. You can definitely do this mission with only 4 in the group, and you certainly could do it without that warrior. We experienced the same a few nights ago, where 2 warriors who decided to run the infusion part died and left. The 6 of us remaining, with no warriors, finished the mission with no problem.
So it seems to me that the ele, ranger and monk that left have a problem if they need a warrior to hide behind all the time.
